Nick Cave Biographical Exhibition Opens in Copenhagen
After a two-month delay due to coronavirus restrictions, 'Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition' has opened at The Black Diamond, the Royal Danish Library's waterfront venue in Copenhagen. The retrospective features over 300 objects from the Australian musician's personal archives, including drafts, original illustrations, handwritten song lyrics, diaries, photographs, videos, and found objects. Sponsored by Gucci as main sponsor and the Danish Beckett-Fonden foundation, the exhibition offers an immersive experience across eight rooms covering 800 square meters, with a soundscape designed by Cave himself. Co-curated by Christina Back and Cave, the show includes two installations by artists Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard, who co-wrote and directed the 2014 BAFTA-nominated film '20,000 Days on Earth.' Cave describes the displayed material as 'the intricate world built around the song or the book, the script or the score' that feeds his official work. The exhibition runs until February 13, 2021, and features inspiration from his acclaimed latest album 'Ghosteen.'
