NH Collection Torino launches Project Room with Georges Rousse
NH Collection Piazza Carlina Torino has inaugurated Project Room, a new initiative hosting rotating exhibitions by local galleries in its spaces. The first edition features French artist Georges Rousse (b. 1947, Paris), presented by Photo & Contemporary gallery. Rousse's photographs document his painterly interventions in abandoned or condemned buildings. The hotel, a 4-star luxury property within NH's Collection brand, occupies a 17th-century building that once housed Antonio Gramsci. Owners Riccardo and Federico De Giuli aim to transform the hotel into an 'urban refuge' blending hospitality with contemporary art. The project will continue with bimonthly artist rotations. Gallerist Valerio Tazzetti emphasized the need for art to leave traditional venues and engage the public physically, especially post-pandemic. The hotel already displays works by Carol Rama, Mario Merz, and Monica Carocci since its 2014 opening.
