NFT Art Sale Raises Funds for Sardinia Wildfires
Since July 24, 2021, wildfires have devastated Sardinia, prompting the art community to launch a fundraising campaign utilizing NFTs. The AB Factory, a cultural association, collaborated with Sardinian designer Antonio Marras, the Italian crypto art team HACKATAO, and various other artists from Italy and beyond to sell digital art pieces. The funds raised will support the ONLUS "Effetto Palla" in Oristano for local wildlife and the municipality of Santu Lussurgiu. This initiative represents Italy's inaugural NFT fundraiser for disaster relief, with artworks available on the Digital Art Rights platform. Marras introduced his first NFT, a triptych featuring "Lussu," named after Emilio Lussu. A total of 500 digital pieces are for sale, with donations also accepted via PayPal or cryptocurrency at digital.artrights.me. Art Rights' CEO Andrea Concas expressed hope that "Art can revive and bring colors where everything is now black."
