Nexo Digital's La Grande Arte al Cinema Returns with Seven New Films

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Nexo Digital's La Grande Arte al Cinema film series returns for 2020 with seven new titles screening from January to June. The cycle began in late January with Leonardo. Le opere, a documentary on the Renaissance genius's most famous paintings. February's focus is Impressionism: from February 10 to 12, fifty masterpieces by Manet, Caillebotte, Monet, Berthe Morisot, Cézanne, Sisley, and Signac will be analyzed in high resolution, with commentary from curators Claire Durand-Ruel (great-granddaughter of art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel and expert on Camille Pissarro) and Marianne Mathieu (director of collections at Musée Marmottan Monet and expert on Berthe Morisot), who organized the exhibition Impressionisti segreti in Rome (open until March 8). From March 30 to April 1, Maledetto Modigliani (directed by Valeria Parisi, co-written with Arianna Marelli) marks the centenary of Amedeo Modigliani's death. La Pasqua nell'Arte screens April 14–15, exploring Easter iconography in painting. Late April brings Botticelli e Firenze. La Nascita della Bellezza, followed by Raffaello. Il Giovane Prodigio (directed by Massimo Ferrari) on May 25–27. The cycle concludes June 22–24 with Lucian Freud. Autoritratto, a documentary based on the exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London (in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, open until end of January 2020). Throughout the cycle, Artribune will publish trailers and exclusive clips on its Instagram channel.
