exhibition · 2026-04-27

Nexo Digital is launching a new season of 'La Grande Arte al Cinema' in spring 2023, featuring documentary films on Francisco Goya, Perugino, and the Baroque rivals Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini. The series begins in March with 'L'ombra di Goya', directed by José Luis López-Linares and presented at the 75th Cannes Film Festival. The film features twelve specialists, including Jean-Claude Carrière, and explores Goya's unmasking of societal vices. In April, 'Perugino. Rinascimento Immortale', directed by Giovanni Piscaglia, marks the 500th anniversary of Perugino's death, highlighting his balance and architectural composure influenced by Piero della Francesca and his devotional painting learned in Andrea del Verrocchio's workshop, as well as his relationships with Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael. The series concludes in May with 'Borromini e Bernini. Sfida alla perfezione', directed by Giovanni Troilo, which delves into Borromini's life, his move from Milan to Rome to work on St. Peter's Basilica, and his rivalry with Bernini. Screenings are scheduled for March 6-8, April 3-5, and May 8-10, 2023.
