Newfields to Present Fashion as Sculpture in BODY / BEYOND

exhibition · 2026-05-08

On May 8, 2026, Newfields in Indianapolis will unveil BODY / BEYOND: Fashion That Transforms, showcasing 25 outfits spanning from the 1950s to the 2010s that challenge the distinctions between fashion and art. Among the recent additions are a sequined blazer from Maison Margiela's 2008 Spring/Summer line and one of Jean Paul Gaultier's iconic cone-cup dresses, famously donned by Madonna during her 1990 Blonde Ambition World Tour. This exhibition will also feature creations by Dior, Halston, an Indiana native, and Miyake, all presented in an engaging arrangement from the IMA Collection.
