The protest was initiated by art dealer Bill Powers, artist Jonathan Horowitz, and curator Alison Gingeras, who used Instagram to share glamorous images of Ivanka with captions addressing issues tied to her father's views on science, climate change, and environmentalism. Minter expressed, "Culture changes, and fascism occasionally raises its head, and that is what is happening now."
