New Public Artworks Installed Across Four Texas Cities
In Texas, public art initiatives have been launched in San Antonio, San Angelo, Fort Worth, and Abilene, showcasing the works of artists such as Blessing Hancock, Carlyn Ray, Diana Kersey, RHYS, and Veryl Goodnight. Hancock's piece, "Energetic," was placed in Sycamore Park, Fort Worth, in April 2025, featuring 160 words from a Juneteenth celebration held in 2023. On May 16, Ray's "Gathered Radiance" debuted in Abilene, comprising 400 elements. San Antonio marked the 30th anniversary of its public art ordinance on May 20 with Kersey's "Creatures of the Creek" and RHYS's "Metro Radiance." In San Angelo, Goodnight's bronze sculpture, "Back from the Brink," is part of a $30 million project that aims to create 18 bronze vignettes by 2029.
