New Public Artworks by Gillick, Steyerl, and Appriou Debut in Langhe Villages

exhibition · 2026-04-27

As part of the Prospettive initiative, two new public art installations have been unveiled in Roddino and Neviglie. This project, which connects the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato hills with the French Riviera, was launched two years ago by Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, and Villa Arson. The goal is to promote tourism and raise awareness about climate change. In Roddino, a mural was created by artists Liam Gillick and Hito Steyerl on a building that formerly housed a school, now serving as a community space. Meanwhile, in Neviglie, sculptor Jean-Marie Appriou crafted "The Traveler," drawing inspiration from the village's coat of arms. These artworks contribute to a cultural circuit that includes the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Art Park and exhibitions at Palazzo Re Rebaudengo.
