New Public Artworks by Airò, Jaar, Smith at CityLife Park in Milan

At CityLife Park in Milan, new public artworks by Mario Airò, Alfredo Jaar, and Kiki Smith have been unveiled as part of the ArtLine initiative, which was launched during Milan Art Week 2022. Since 2020, the park has transformed into an open-air museum, situated near the towers designed by Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki, and Daniel Libeskind. Airò's piece, "Atrio dello sguardo sul futuro," is an underground sculpture inspired by the Etruscan bronze Piacenza liver, contrasting with a celestial map and the towers' verticality. Jaar's "Padiglione Rosso," a red glass cube by AOUMM, encourages contemplation on culture, finance, and politics. Smith's "Guardiane" features two bronze cat sculptures, symbolizing guardianship and referencing the cats of Castello Sforzesco. These installations complement works by various artists, with future contributions from others, including Jeremy Deller, whose piece is nearing completion, aiming for a total of 20 installations.
