New outdoor sculpture garden opens at Lucca's San Micheletto complex
The San Micheletto complex in Lucca has unveiled 'I giardini della scultura Pier Carlo Santini', an outdoor exhibition featuring pieces from the Fondazione Ragghianti collection. Architect Mauro Lovi designed the revamped layout to provide a more cohesive and fitting arrangement for the predominantly Italian sculptures. Enhanced captions enrich the visitor experience. The exhibition showcases works by various artists, including Giò Pomodoro, Gigi Guadagnucci, and Ugo La Pietra, among others. For preservation purposes, some sculptures are located in the library's reading room. Supported by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca, the initiative seeks to establish a route that emphasizes the site’s artistic and cultural significance. Paolo Bolpagni, the foundation's director, highlighted the goal of enhancing visitor engagement with the exhibition.
