New museum restaurants open at MACRO Rome and MEF Turin

On December 10, the MACRO museum in Rome will reopen its rooftop restaurant as Materia – Terrazza Macro, following renovations. The 500-square-meter terrace seats 150, with 120 indoor covers. The project is led by a consortium including brothers David and Daniele Guidi, Andrea Gasperini, Daniele Conficconi, Massimo Bassetti, and architect Roberto Anichini. Chef Flavio Del Broccolo (born 1986) will serve a contemporary Italian menu with global influences, including yakitori and curry chicken. Initially open for lunch in December, from January hours will extend from 12:00 to 2:00. The museum awaits a new artistic director after Luca Lopinto's term ended. Meanwhile, in Turin, the Museo Ettore Fico (MEF) has opened Muro, a contemporary osteria serving traditional cuisine. Designed by Velvet Studio and Concreto, it is managed by Matteo Borgnino with chef Rocco Safina. The restaurant features simple dishes, artisanal wines curated by Federico Verri, a DJ booth, and talks on art and design. MEF, active since 2014 in the former Sicme industrial building, houses works by Ettore Fico and has expanded its collection with works by young artists.
