New lighting project illuminates Ferrara's Salone dei Mesi at Palazzo Schifanoia
The Salone dei Mesi, a Renaissance masterpiece in Ferrara's Palazzo Schifanoia, has been reilluminated through a project by STUDIO PASETTI lighting and architect Alberto Pasetti Bombardella, with iGuzzini Illuminazione as technology partner. The hall, decorated for Prince Borso d'Este around 1469, features an iconographic program by astrologer and court librarian Pellegrino Prisciani, celebrating Borso's golden age with a blend of celebrative, mythological, and astrological themes. The new lighting, funded by the Comune di Ferrara, uses 52 static scenes and 2 dynamic sequences designed by Pasetti Bombardella based on historian Giovanni Sassu's guidance. It enhances both the overall frescoes and their details, managed via iGuzzini Smart Light app and Quick BLE control system. The solution allows customizable viewing, aids installation and management in a historic site, and, in Vittorio Sgarbi's words, realizes "the light of the mind."
