New Italian Magazine 'Chéri' Launches with Cultural Approach to Eroticism
Chéri, a new Italian magazine exploring eroticism through art, architecture, design, and philosophy, has been launched by three recent university graduates. Founded by Gemma Ferriero, Eugenia Anna Garavaglia, and Flavia Franciscone, the publication originated from an academic exercise during an editorial and art direction course at NABA in Milan. The first issue, released in October 2025, focuses on the theme of space, examining the relationship between desire and environment. The magazine features dense articles and interviews, including a conversation with philosopher Federico Campagna and a piece on architects Bianca Felicori & Parasite 2.0. Its visual aesthetic draws inspiration from the Swiss school and Barbara Stauffacher Solomon's supergraphics, with a cover using simple shapes like hearts and bold typography. The founders describe Chéri as 'liminal, synesthetic, and allusive,' rejecting explicit content in favor of eros as a search for beauty and meaning. The second issue, themed 'Matter,' is planned for autumn 2026.
