New Ibiza Art Fair CAN Launches July 2022

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

A new contemporary art fair called CAN – Contemporary Art Now will debut in Ibiza, Spain, from July 14 to 17, 2022, with a preview by invitation on July 13. Organized by Croatian critic and editor Sasha Bogojev, the fair takes place at FECOEV (Ferias, Congresos y Eventos de Ibiza), a 10,000-square-meter venue near Ibiza city. Over 30 international galleries from New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Paris, London, and Spain will participate, including PLUS-ONE Gallery from Antwerp. The fair is an invitation-only initiative by Madrid cultural promoter Sergio Sancho. CAN aims to position itself as the leading contemporary art fair in the Balearic Islands, competing with the existing Ibiza Art Fair, which returns September 21-28, 2022, at PIKES IBIZA hotel-night club after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. The fair's manifesto describes Ibiza as a historic hub for advanced cultures and artistic movements, from Phoenicians and Greeks to hippies and musical avant-garde, and asserts that CAN will focus exclusively on the latest contemporary art.
