New Guangzhou Art Centers and Museum Expansions Highlight Regional Cultural Growth
In Guangzhou and Foshan, China, several prominent art institutions have either opened or undergone expansions. Established in 2020 by He Jianfeng and designed by Tadao Ando, the He Art Museum in Foshan emphasizes modern and contemporary art. Notable exhibitions currently on display include Mamma Andersson's "A History Over and Over Again" and Takesada Matsutani's "Flow of Shades." The Bai'etan Greater Bay Area Art Center, which debuted in April 2024, includes the Bai'etan branch of the Guangdong Museum of Art, boasting over 40,000 pieces. Current exhibitions feature "Botero in Guangzhou." Vitamin Creative Space, founded in 2002, will remain closed until September 24, while the Guangdong Times Museum reopened in March 2024 with shows like "Floating World" and "Magic Atlas."
