New Gallery 11 Opens in Former Wool Mill in Biella

A new exhibition space named 11 will open in Biella on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The gallery is located in a loft of the former Ex Lanificio Pria wool mill at Via Salita di Riva 3, overlooking the Cervo stream, which previously housed the Zaion gallery. Founded by Alessandro Pianca, Marta Isabella Rizi, and Adelaide Pianca, the project is introduced with a quote by Harald Szeemann: 'Art is a possibility.' The number 11, described as a 'master,' symbolizes an unstable equilibrium—two singularities that proceed together without merging, maintaining tension and openness. Pianca brings experience from the Biennale di Venezia, Grand Palais, MACRO, and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo; Rizi contributes a performative and narrative background from BBC, Italian festivals, and Fondazione Pistoletto's Terme Culturali; Adelaide Pianca adds contemporary performance and stand-up comedy. The gallery aims to be an open platform for artists, curators, writers, musicians, and philosophers, focusing on processes rather than occupying spaces, rejecting culture as ornament, and emphasizing long-term research and complexity.
