New Florence Gallery L'Appalto Opens with Focus on Emerging Italian Art

Arianna Iandelli and Lupo Steinhauslin have opened L'Appalto, a new gallery in Florence dedicated to emerging Italian art and international connections. The gallery, located at Via Faentina 115/R in Florence, will open on September 12, 2026, with an inaugural exhibition titled 'Personalissime Sculture'. The space, formerly a grocery store, retains its original sign, and the name 'L'Appalto' honors that history. The gallery's program will feature three to four annual events in distinct formats: 'Affondi' (monographic exhibitions or dialogues), 'Proposte' (group exhibitions around visual, formal, or conceptual themes), and 'Appalti' (collaborations with international galleries and project spaces based on mutual hospitality). Each exhibition will be accompanied by a dedicated publication, serving as a critical extension of the show. The inaugural exhibition, part of the 'Proposte' format, brings together five artists—Alfredo Aceto, Andrea Bocca, Bea Bonafini, Federica Balconi, and Federico Cantale—who explore sculpture in its broadest sense. The publication plays a structural role in the exhibition's construction. The gallery aims to deviate from conventional market models, emphasizing critical depth and collaboration.
