New Critical Edition of Delacroix's Journal Published
Éditions José Corti has released a new edition of Eugène Delacroix's Journal, completely revised from the original manuscripts. The two-volume set, each over a thousand pages, is hailed as a literary work by one of painting's greatest figures. The journal begins on September 3, 1822, at Le Louroux in Touraine, capturing Delacroix's reflections on his artistic destiny, memory, love, and death. It includes entries on painting, music, political utopias, and even recipes. The edition is edited by Jacques Henric.
