New Cat's Eye anime film to premiere on Disney+ in 2025
Walt Disney Company announced a new anime film adaptation of Tsukasa Hojo's manga 'Cat's Eye' (Occhi di gatto), scheduled for global release on Disney+ in September 2025. The film marks the 40th anniversary of the manga's first publication. Directed by Yoshifumi Sueda, with screenplay by Hayashi Mori and animation direction by Yosuke Yabumoto, the film is produced by LIDEN FILMS. The story follows sisters Sheila, Kelly, and Tati, who are art thieves. The original manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 1983, collected in 18 volumes with 18 million copies sold. A previous anime TV series aired in Japan from 1983 and in Italy on Italia 1 in 1985, with over 70 episodes. A French live-action TV series was also produced.
