New Book Offers Intimate Look at Frida Kahlo's Family Sanctuary
Rizzoli New York has unveiled a new publication titled *Casa Kahlo: Frida Kahlo's Home and Sanctuary*. This work explores the Museo Casa Kahlo, which opened last year in Mexico City and emphasizes Frida's personal relationships throughout her life, diverging from her famous public image. The book's authors, great-nieces of Frida—Mara Romeo Kahlo, Mara de Anda Romeo, and Frida Hentschel Romeo—share unique insights through never-before-published letters and personal artifacts, including sketches and clothing, alongside a display of taxidermy butterflies. The home, purchased by Kahlo's parents in 1930, became a museum through the donation by her sister's granddaughter.
