New Book Explores Elio Fiorucci’s Revolutionary Decade in Milan

A new publication, 'Liminal Fiorucci. Dieci anni di moda e arte a Milano' (Postmedia Books), delves into Elio Fiorucci’s impact on fashion and art during the 1970s and 1980s. The book originates from Gianmarco Gronchi’s art history thesis at the University of Milan, which won the V Premio di laurea Fondazione Prada in 2021. It is structured around four macro areas: the ambiguous 1980s, Fiorucci’s graphic experimentation, his stores as performative spaces, and the editorial project Domus Moda. The author aims to define Fiorucci’s multifaceted legacy without claiming a definitive reading. A concurrent biographical exhibition at Triennale Milano, curated by Judith Clark, runs until March 16, 2025.
