New animated film 'Le avventure del Piccolo Nicolas' to release February 15

A new animated film based on the classic French children's book series 'Le Petit Nicolas' by René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé is set to release in Italy on February 15, 2024. Titled 'Le avventure del Piccolo Nicolas' (original French title 'Le Petit Nicolas – Qu'est-ce qu'on attend pour être heureux?'), the film is directed by Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre, with a screenplay by Michel Fessner, who previously wrote 'March of the Penguins'. The story follows the mischievous 8-year-old Nicolas and his friends, blending their adventures with meta-narrative elements where the character interacts with his creators. The film was produced in 2022 and is now arriving in Italian cinemas. It pays homage to Goscinny and Sempé, who first published the series in 1959. The original books have been adapted into several previous films, helping popularize the character in Italy.
