New Academy at Capodimonte to Offer Specialized Training in Ceramics, Jewelry, and Gardening

institutional · 2026-04-26

Since 2015, Sylvain Bellenger has served as the director of the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte and has now been named president of the newly established Fondazione ITS Capodimonte Ma.De. This appointment comes ahead of the 'Napoli a Parigi' exhibition. He will work alongside Valter Luca De Bartolomeis, a former member of the Caselli Institute. The foundation is set to oversee an Academy that will provide three two-year post-diploma programs in gardening, ceramic design, and jewelry making for individuals under 35, launching in autumn 2023. These courses, funded by the Campania Region, will be free for students. Bellenger highlighted the potential for future generations, while De Bartolomeis pointed out the innovative nature of these local programs. This initiative is part of broader cultural investments in Naples, which also include the Polo Museale Autonomo del Vomero and the reorganization of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli.
