NEVVEN opens new space in Bologna bridging Nordic and Mediterranean art

exhibition · 2026-04-27

On January 25, 2024, NEVVEN, a hybrid non-profit art organization established in Sweden in 2015 by curator Mattia Lullini and artist Alina Vergnano, will unveil a new exhibition venue in Bologna at Strada Maggiore 28/A, aligning with Arte Fiera. This 100-square-meter location boasts Renaissance barrel-vaulted ceilings and is situated just 200 meters from Bologna's iconic Two Towers. NEVVEN operates by blending commercial gallery activities with public initiatives, supported by revenue from sales, as well as contributions from public institutions, foundations, and private donors. Lullini has curated two opening exhibitions running from January 25 to March 16, 2024: 'Mastaboom, Mastabadtomm' featuring NEVVEN artists and 'Home as a Silhouette,' Mikael Lo Presti's first solo show in Italy, which delves into themes of identity and migration through still life and portraiture.
