Nevin Aladağ's First Korean Solo Show 'Motion Lines' at Barakat Contemporary

Barakat Contemporary in Seoul presents Nevin Aladağ's debut solo exhibition in Korea, 'Motion Lines,' running from May 25 to July 24, 2022. The title references animation techniques where lines depict movement, sound, and emotion. Aladağ, a Turkish-born artist who moved to Germany as a child, has since the late 1990s used everyday objects, language, architecture, and landscapes as material, exploring sound across installation, sculpture, video, and performance. Her work creates audiovisual experiences while critiquing capitalist structures related to cultural identity, conventions, and class. She reveals the fictive potential of sounds, breaking down real-world boundaries through new language and metaphor.
