Nesxt Festival Debuts in Turin with Non-Profit Focus

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The inaugural Nesxt festival took place in Turin from October 31 to November 6, 2016, at Spazio Q35 on Via Quittengo 35. Conceived by Olga Gambari and the Artesera association, the event was sponsored by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, which redirected funds from other organizations to support it. The festival extended beyond the typical four-day Artissima week, featuring live performances, a graphics section, and an exhibition dedicated to non-profit spaces. Participants from across Italy and beyond were allowed free entry to a large hall intended as a collective showcase, though the setup resulted in chaotic overlaps and poor signage. Despite these issues, the festival was praised for highlighting the non-profit scene and emerging Turin artists beyond the Dora river.
