NeoCognition, a startup founded by Yu Su, a professor at Ohio State, has just revealed itself after being in stealth mode, securing $40 million in seed funding to develop AI agents that can learn on their own, much like humans do. The funding was jointly led by Cambium Capital and Walden Catalyst Ventures, with additional investments from Vista Equity Partners and notable angel investors like Intel's CEO Lip-Bu Tan and Databricks co-founder Ion Stoica. Su, who started the company last year after seeing advancements in foundational models, pointed out that existing AI tools like Claude Code and OpenClaw only succeed around 50% of the time, underlining their limitations.
