Nedko Solakov's First Retrospective Opens at Casino Luxembourg

exhibition · 2026-04-23

The inaugural retrospective of Bulgarian artist Nedko Solakov, who was born in 1957 and resides in Sofia, is being co-hosted by Casino Luxembourg, Rooseum Center for Contemporary Art in Malmö, and O.K. Centrum für Gegenwartskunst in Linz. Entitled 'A 12 1/3 (and even more) Year Survey,' the exhibition spans works from the early 1990s to the present, emphasizing narrative, poetic fiction, and critical humor. Among the highlighted works are 'The Truth (The Earth is Plane, The World is Flat)' (1995) and 'New Noah's Ark' (1992). This showcase will be on display from December 13, 2003, until March 7, 2004, reflecting Solakov's self-deprecating and absurd artistic style, including pieces like 'Some of my Capabilities' (1995) and 'This is me, too…' (1996).
