Neda Saeedi's First European Institutional Solo Show at TAXISPALAIS
TAXISPALAIS Kunsthalle Tirol presents 'in fire yet we trust', the first institutional solo exhibition in Europe by Iranian-born artist Neda Saeedi. The show features new works including sculptures, installations, and an inkjet print titled 'New Broken Window Here' (2024). Saeedi's work addresses themes of cultural violence, colonialism, and monumentality, transforming church windows into oppressive altars and using overhead projectors to turn walls into blazing screens. The exhibition also includes 'Monument of Oblivion', which organizes debris into a cycle reflecting on present and past fascisms, and a hall transformed into a well-kept garden representing dead nature controlled by imperial means. The press release poses existential questions about hope and giving up. The exhibition is commissioned by TAXISPALAIS Kunsthalle Tirol.
