NCTM Law Firm Launches Artists-in-Residence Grants for Italian Artists Abroad

award · 2026-05-05

NCTM, a prominent Italian law firm with over 250 professionals and offices in Milan, Rome, Verona, London, Brussels, and Shanghai, has launched the eighth edition of its 'nctm e l’arte: artists in residence' program. The initiative offers grants of €10,000 to support Italian artists' participation in international residency programs. The selection is made by a commission including project curator Gabi Scardi, members of NCTM's Art Committee, previous grant recipients, and curator Valerio Del Baglivo. Past beneficiaries have attended residencies such as SOMA in Mexico, De Ateliers in Amsterdam, Center for Book Arts and ISCP in New York, Tirana Art Lab, and ACT at MIT in Cambridge. The deadline for the eighth session is November 30, 2016. The program is part of NCTM's broader art collection project started in 2011, curated by Gabi Scardi, which includes acquisitions and production of artworks. The firm's involvement in art extends to other initiatives, such as a scholarship launched in 2013 by former partner Gianfranco Negri-Clementi for students of Brera Academy, and exhibitions in law offices, following a model pioneered by Paul Weiss in New York in 1974.
