Nctm Law Firm Launches €75,000 Open Call for Italian Artists
The Italian law firm Nctm, through its art initiative Nctm e l'arte, has launched an open call titled 'Essenziale' inviting Italian artists or those residing in Italy to submit works reflecting on the essential values laid bare by the COVID-19 pandemic. The deadline for proposals is July 30, 2021, with selected works to be completed by October 2021. The firm will allocate a total of €75,000 to acquire the chosen pieces for its corporate collection, which already includes works by Kiki Smith, Adrian Paci, and Marinella Senatore. The initiative is directed by Gabi Scardi and also organizes talks and roundtables on sustainability, social equity, rights, and justice. Nctm, with offices in Milan, Rome, London, Brussels, and Shanghai, has a history of art patronage, notably contributing to the reinstatement of Alberto Burri's 'Teatro Continuo' in Milan's Parco Sempione in 2015, after its demolition in 1989.
