Nazzarena Poli Maramotti's 'L'altra notte' at Galleria Z2O in Rome

Galleria Z2O in Rome presents a solo exhibition by Nazzarena Poli Maramotti (born 1987 in Montecchio Emilia), curated by Davide Ferri. The show, titled 'L'altra notte', features works mostly created in Dale i Sunnfjord, a Norwegian village in Sogn og Fjordane county. Paintings such as 'Fiordo' (2019), 'Un altro dubbio' (2019), 'Una notte' (2019), and 'Un'altra notte' (2019) depict landscapes reduced to fluctuating color fields suggesting mountains, rocks, sky, and thick clouds. The works are installed with small magnets, giving the oil-on-paper pieces a suspended, light appearance. Ferri describes the paintings as a constant movement where color areas expand and contract in never-definitive forms. The exhibition explores the thin line between landscape and human-nature identification, treating portraits as landscapes and landscapes as silent narratives.
