Nazzarena Poli Maramotti's Fairy-Tale Exhibition at Rome's z2o Gallery
The z2o gallery in Rome presents 'Una fòla', the second chapter of a trilogy by Nazzarena Poli Maramotti (born 1987 in Montecchio Emilia). The exhibition features ceramics and paintings on canvas and board, inspired by a family story with fairy-tale elements, narrated by the artist's grandmother. The works include a castle, three unusual characters, and a mischievous monkey that appears only partially, its presence suggested through anthropomorphic tails and hidden paws in landscapes. The show references Italo Calvino's 'The Castle of Crossed Destinies'. The first chapter, 'Pratonera' (2021), focused on the artist's hometown and its rituals. The exhibition is accompanied by a text by Cecilia Canziani.
