Nav Haq to Curate 2027 Lahore Biennale; Sonsbeek 2026 Lineup Revealed; Yuko Mohri Wins Calder Prize
Nav Haq has been appointed as the curator for the upcoming fourth Lahore Biennale, which is set for 2027. Currently residing in Antwerp, Haq serves as the associate director at M HKA and is also an editor for Afterall journal. This biennial will highlight perspectives from Lahori, Punjabi, Desi, and Eurasian communities. The 13th edition of Sonsbeek in the Netherlands, themed 'Memory as Living Action,' is scheduled from July 2 to October 11, 2026, featuring 18 artists. Qatar Museums will host the first Rubaiya Qatar quadrennial from November 2026 to early 2027, with the main exhibition 'Unruly Waters' displaying over 50 artists. Yuko Mohri has been awarded the 2025 Calder Prize. The 25th Biennale of Sydney, titled 'Rememory,' will take place from March 14 to June 14, 2026, showcasing 83 artists. Additionally, on February 3, Abu Dhabi initiated an Art Customs Duty Waiver Program.
