Naturtex and PerezOchando Launch Shoji Carpet Collection Inspired by Japanese Panels

Spanish textile manufacturer Naturtex, in collaboration with Valencia-based studio PerezOchando, has launched Shoji, a carpet collection inspired by traditional Japanese paper-and-wood sliding panels. Designers Claudia Pérez and Pedro Ochando reinterpret the essence of shoji—light, luminous, and balanced—through a textile proposal where material, color, and spatial perception interact naturally. The collection is woven from wood fiber and cotton, offering a warm, organic feel with a matte finish that complements environments featuring wood, linen, stone, or natural light. Shoji is available on two bases—Tatami and Tamisal—and in a palette of five tones ranging from warm yellows to deep greens, blues, reds, and terracottas. The bases act as open supports that can accommodate custom designs for interior design, hospitality, retail, or office projects. The collection is versatile for residential settings, boutique hotels, corporate spaces, or transit areas seeking a warm, sophisticated dimension. PerezOchando, known for their contextual and narrative-driven product design, has previously worked with firms such as Missana, Sancal, Fambuena, and Lékué. Naturtex, based in Crevillent (Alicante), has decades of experience weaving carpets, panels, and textiles from natural fibers for residential and contract projects worldwide, combining artisanal craftsmanship with a commitment to author design and sustainability.
