National Portrait Gallery acquires Harley Weir portrait of Charli xcx
The National Portrait Gallery in London has added a photograph of singer Charli xcx, taken in 2024 by UK photographer and director Harley Weir, to its collection. The image features Charli xcx dressed in a white crop top and black jeans, casually leaning against a wall. It is currently showcased in the History Makers space (Room 33), which honors individuals who have influenced modern culture and public life. This acquisition was made possible by the Bukhman Foundation through the Collecting the Now initiative, which received £1 million for its contemporary acquisitions fund. Earlier this month, Charli xcx also released her album titled Music, Fashion, Film.
