institutional · 2026-04-20

Yun Bunmo has just taken on the role of director at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) and has big plans for its 50th anniversary. He aims to transform the museum into a space that’s more globally accessible and fosters empathy through artistic expression. His focus will include improving accessibility, expanding conversations about Korean art history, and working alongside North Korean groups. MMCA also intends to enhance its international artist programs and document the history of Korean modern art through exhibitions and archives. The museum has four locations: Gwacheon, Deoksugung, Seoul, and Cheongju.
