National Gallery Singapore offers 'naked' tours ahead of $530 million refurbishment reopening

institutional · 2026-04-20

Before its reopening in October after a $530 million renovation, the National Gallery Singapore is offering exclusive 'naked' tours of its vacant Supreme Court wing to select visitors. Interested individuals can apply through the Gallery's Facebook page, with 360 participants chosen to enjoy 90-minute guided tours of both gallery buildings. These fortunate winners will be among the first to see the new roof made of glass, steel, and aluminum that links the two buildings. The tours will take place prior to the display of 1,000 pieces from the Gallery's extensive 10,000-piece Southeast Asian art collection. Notably, these tours are distinct from the sold-out 'naked' tours at the National Gallery of Australia’s James Turrell exhibition. The initial winners have already been revealed.
