Nathalie Du Pasquier installs 'Mind the gap' in Brescia metro
Nathalie Du Pasquier, a French artist and former Memphis Group co-founder based in Milan, inaugurates her site-specific installation 'Mind the gap' on February 17, 2022, at Stazione Vittoria in Brescia. The work is part of SUBBRIXIA, a permanent public art project for the city's metro, promoted by UBI Fondazione CAB in collaboration with the Municipality of Brescia, Brescia Mobilità, and Metro Brescia, curated by NERO. SUBBRIXIA began in 2015 with interventions by Marcello Maloberti, Patrick Tuttofuoco, Rä di Martino, Francesco Fonassi, and Elisabetta Benassi. Du Pasquier's installation uses ceramic tiles from Mutina, reinterpreting the typical metro tile to transform the entrance staircase into a colorful environment. Future phases will involve more artists addressing station architecture and neighborhood communities.
