Natasha Sidharta's Evolution from Collector to Art World Figure

Natasha Sidharta, an Indonesian art collector, first gained attention at the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011 during Ho Tzu Nyen's presentation. Her journey began unexpectedly in 2000 when she discovered a painting by Italian artist Filippo Sciascia at Komaneka Gallery in Ubud, Bali. The work depicted a Balinese woman and prompted her to return to meet the curator. By 2025, her perspective had shifted significantly, as she expressed discomfort with the collector label during an interview at PS.Cafe in Singapore. Initially imagined as flamboyant, she appeared unassuming at the Venice event, wearing simple attire with gold ballet flats. Her interest was sparked after returning to Indonesia from studies in Boston. The encounter at Sant'Apollonia revealed her understated elegance beneath Romanesque arches.
