Nastri d'Argento 2023: Bellocchio and Andò Triumph

At the Nastri d'Argento 2023 awards, Marco Bellocchio's film 'Rapito' won Best Film, while Roberto Andò's 'La stranezza' was named Nastro dell'Anno. Bellocchio also received the Nastro d'Argento Grandi Serie for his series 'Esterno Notte'. Giuseppe Fiorello's debut 'Stranizza d'amuri' won Best First Film; it is inspired by the 1980s Giarre murder of Giorgio Giammona and Antonio Galatola. Sydney Sibilia's 'Mixed by Erry' was named Best Comedy. The Nastro Speciale went to Michele Placido for 'L'Ombra di Caravaggio' and 'Orlando'. Giovanna Ralli received the Nastro d'Argento alla Carriera; she recalled her early days as an extra at Cinecittà and her career beginning in 1950 with 'Luci del varietà'. Other winners include Barbara Ronchi (Best Actress for 'Rapito'), Alessandro Borghi and Luca Marinelli (Best Actor for 'Le otto montagne'), and Pilar Fogliati (Best Actress in a Comedy for 'Romantiche'). The awards also recognized technical achievements in cinematography, editing, and music.
