Nassos Daphnis and Rita McBride in Dialogue at Fondation CAB
In Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the Fondation CAB is showcasing 'Abstract Constructions: Nassos Daphnis / Rita McBride', which highlights the works of Greek-American artist Nassos Daphnis (1914–2010) and sculptor Rita McBride (b. 1960). Daphnis, known for his contributions to Hard Edge Painting and Minimal Art, was once represented by the Leo Castelli gallery but faded from prominence as he focused on horticulture, creating 46 peony varieties named after Greek figures. After moving from Greece to New York in 1930, he began his painting journey during World War II. Curated by Gregory Lang, the exhibition will be open from March 14 to October 31, 2026, and was featured in Beaux Arts Magazine's July 2026 issue (n°505-506).
