Nashira Gallery Opens in Milan with Kentridge Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Nashira Gallery, a new art space founded by Ludovica Bifulco, opens on November 24, 2022, at via Vincenzo Monti 21 in Milan. The gallery aims to bridge works from the private Collezione 54 with emerging contemporary artists. The inaugural exhibition, "La Profezia," features William Kentridge's 2019 video "Waiting for the Sibyl" alongside works by African artists Mafafo Kimathi, Teresa Kutala Firmino, and Wim Botha (who exhibited at the 55th Venice Biennale), as well as young Italian artists Andrea Grotto and Andreas Zampella. Collezione 54, named after founder Rosario Bifulco's birth date and the number of African countries, comprises 400 works focusing on contemporary African art, addressing themes like diaspora, colonialism, and social disparities. The exhibition runs through February 24, 2023.
