Nasan Tur Invites Public Submissions for 'Archive of Feelings' at Manifesta 16

festival-fair · 2026-04-28

For Manifesta 16, the nomadic biennial opening on June 21 across multiple Ruhr cities, Berlin-based artist Nasan Tur is creating the installation 'Elevation' at St. Gertrud Church in Essen. He has launched an online portal inviting people from the Ruhr region and beyond to anonymously share hopes, fears, wounds, ideas, wishes, and everyday observations. Excerpts from these texts will be carved into old church pews that form part of the installation. The work is commissioned specifically for the biennial.
