NArchitekTURA Designs Glowing Exhibition Path for Lanckoroński Collection at Wawel Castle

At Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow, the exhibition 'Masterpieces from the Lanckoroński Collection – A story of Antiquity' presents ancient sculptures across five interconnected rooms from May 8 to August 30, 2026. Designed by NArchitekTURA, the installation uses curved walls, continuous surfaces, subdued colors, and controlled lighting to create a contemporary journey through the historic interiors. The entrance hall features two curved walls with a circular light installation evoking the Mediterranean sun. Glazed birch plywood in the first gallery becomes translucent at the upper level, allowing indirect light to create a soft glow. Sculptures are displayed on wooden platforms and glass cases. A textured surface extends from floor to walls in the next gallery, providing a backdrop for plaster casts on marble pedestals. A warm brown plywood wall with circular openings contains photographs of absent objects and four niches for smaller artifacts. The final room uses burgundy carpet and a circular display case with brass elements. The design balances contemporary exhibition design with the castle's historic architecture, using clay plaster, stone, and metal to reference antiquity.
