NAQ Architecture wraps Vinh Long house in recycled terracotta brick screen

NAQ Architecture has finalized the Vinh Long House, a weekend family retreat located in Vinh Long, Vietnam. This structure showcases a prominent facade made from recycled terracotta bricks, obtained from the renowned brick-making village of Mang Thit. A perforated screen envelops the street-facing side, extending from the ground-level entrance to the upper floors, creating a ventilated barrier that blocks direct sunlight while facilitating airflow through staggered joints. Spanning 150 square meters, the design centers around a lofty void topped with a glass roof, inviting natural light into the compact layout. The ground floor features an open kitchen, dining, and living area, with sliding glass doors leading to a landscaped terrace. The house, commissioned by Ho Chi Minh City residents, was completed in 2024, with photography by Paul Phan and lead architect Nguyễn Anh Quân.
