Naples Launches First Gallery Weekend with 16 Galleries
Naples is set to kick off its first European Gallery Weekend from December 13 to 15, 2024. This special event, organized by 16 leading galleries, will offer a mapped route through the city, with extended visiting hours: 11 AM to 7 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 10 AM to 1 PM on Sunday. It takes cues from the 2020 Contemporaneamente initiative that united local cultural spots during the pandemic. The Gallery Weekend hopes to become an annual highlight, featuring private galleries in Naples. Notable displays include Diego Cibelli’s porcelain at Alfonso Artiaco and Jenny Holzer’s solo show at Studio Trisorio. Participating venues are spread across various neighborhoods, forming a “network within the network” alongside the fall Art Days festival.
