Originally released in 1986, Nan Goldin's photobook 'The Ballad of Sexual Dependency' vividly portrays the personal experiences of her friends within the bohemian culture of downtown New York. The 2012 hardcover edition features 127 photographs spread over 144 pages, with dimensions of 10.28 x 9.37 x 0.73 inches, and carries the ISBN 9781597112086. Goldin started her photography journey at the age of fifteen, obtained a BFA in 1977, and relocated to New York in 1978. Her work was highlighted at the 1985 Whitney Biennial and showcased in a retrospective at the Whitney in 1996. She received a Teddy Award in 1996 for 'I'll Be Your Mirror' and was honored with the Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres in 2006. Goldin currently resides in Berlin, Paris, and New York.
