Nadia Sawalha Threatens Legal Action Against ITV Over Loose Women Removal

Nadia Sawalha, a panellist on ITV's Loose Women, has indicated she may pursue legal action against the network, claiming her removal was due to her advocacy for Palestinian rights. The European Legal Support Center (ELSC) has dispatched a pre-action letter to ITV, alleging direct and indirect discrimination, as well as harassment linked to her protected philosophical beliefs. In an Instagram video, Sawalha described facing a growing campaign of negative press, complaints, and calls for her dismissal. She noted ITV has frequently cycled her on and off the show, often citing the reasoning of external noise. Since publicly discussing Palestine in December 2023, following the Hamas attacks on October 7, she has faced accusations of spreading falsehoods. Two newspapers that previously labeled her and her husband antisemitic have since retracted and issued apologies. Having been on Loose Women since 2013, Sawalha lamented the situation, stating she had hoped for a more compassionate response from ITV. The ELSC asserts that her anti-Zionist views are safeguarded under the Equality Act 2010. ITV has been approached by BBC News for a response.
